Personal information includes an individual's name, address, date of birth and photographs or images. It does not include business contact information or work product information.
What Information We Collect: The information we collect is only that which you provide to us on a Course Registration Form and is then manually inputted into our computer. It includes your name, address, phone number, email address and date of birth. This information is collected under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and is required in order to process each application.
What We Do With The Information We Collect:
Our use for required purposes: We use the information we have collected to accomplish the following purposes: - Training Courses: personal information is necessary for registration, to measure participation and to issue Certificates or Awards following successful completion of a course. As part of our agreement with WorkSafeBC, we are subject to random audits and may be asked to reveal limited information for statistical purposes only.
- Marketing purposes: only upon request will we use your personal information to contact you to increase awareness of our services. Some of our advertising and marketing campaigns include email, mail, fax and telephone solicitation.
Your Responsibilities: Photographs or videos of people are not allowed at the Care Institute. Updating your social media profile is strictly forbidden, as it may impact the privacy of another individual participating in that class (this includes "selfies"). This policy will be strictly enforced by the instructor, and the Privacy Officer or delegate. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Your Right To View Your Personal Information During regular office hours, you may view any and all your personal information that we may have collected from you as long as it does not infringe upon the rights of another. To view your information you must complete a Request Form and provide proper identification.
